LEED and Construction Waste Diversion
General information about construction and demolition waste planning, material streams, weight tickets, hauler documentation, diversion tracking, reuse, salvage, and recycling documentation.
ORES does not guarantee LEED credits or certification. Credit eligibility, documentation requirements, and reporting are determined by the project's LEED reviewer and USGBC. This page is planning information only.
Common material streams
- Concrete, masonry, and asphalt
- Metals (structural, MEP, roofing)
- Wood — clean framing and pallets
- Drywall and gypsum
- Cardboard and paper packaging
- Mixed C&D destined for a sort facility
Documentation ORES can provide
- Weight tickets from the receiving disposal or recycling facility
- Hauler receipts identifying container, date, and destination
- Destination facility information for the project record
Availability varies by disposal facility. Confirm documentation requirements with ORES during project setup so the correct destinations and tickets are captured from day one.
Reuse and salvage
Onsite reuse, deconstruction, and salvage typically deliver the strongest diversion outcomes. Plan salvage windows early — before demolition crews begin — and coordinate container timing so salvaged materials are separated from the mixed-debris stream.
