Housekeeping and staging

  • Keep walkways, stairs, and egress paths clear of debris at all times.
  • Stage waste near the container to reduce carry distance and trip hazards.
  • Contain lightweight debris that can become windborne.
  • Address spills and slippery materials immediately.

Safe loading

  • Load below the top rail and distribute weight evenly.
  • Do not enter or stand inside a roll-off container.
  • Use proper lifting technique and mechanical aids for heavy debris.
  • Never load flammable liquids, pressurized cylinders, or hazardous materials without approval.

Access and clearance

  • Provide a firm, level placement pad clear of overhead utilities.
  • Maintain unobstructed truck access for delivery, swap, and final haul.
  • Coordinate placement with adjacent trades and site logistics.

Regulated waste

Regulated materials — hazardous waste, asbestos, contaminated soils, universal waste, regulated medical waste — require separate handling, manifesting, and disposal. Coordinate with ORES and your environmental consultant before staging or loading.
